Posted on June 03 2020

Day 4, Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2020 started with three designers exhibiting collections that were fairly diverse from one another. Manish Chhabra showcased his collection under the brand, ‘Delhi Vintage Co.’  Their collection set ablaze the stage that saw types like copper, gold, bronze, and white. The attire was somewhat flowy and wearable, and the complex embroidery work and traditional motifs were surely worth mentioning. The material was khadi, and the collection used traditional elements and gave the beautiful, fashionable twist.

Designer Prreeti Jaiin Nainutia displayed her collection branded as, ‘Coraline,’ stirred by underwater under the label, ‘Nirmooha.’ She was exceptional with the use of tones, that flawlessly complemented the inspirational theme and the colors comprised of baby pink, white, hues of blue, and salmon pink, amongst others. From perfect attire for the beach to multi-layered dresses, and from semi-formal business suits to swimsuits, this collection covered it all. The sizzling actress Esha Gupta was fabulous as she took the ramp for Prreeti’s collection, and in the attire, she looked nothing like a mermaid.

It was elegant Soha Ali Khan then who took the ramp for Shahin Mannan as she flaunted a black corset blouse with a smooth, comfortable skirt, and black boots. This collection was eccentric and was inspired by travel, which could be seen in the plane and cycle themes embellished on the outfits. Red, black, and grey were the colors used majorly along with some denim outfits.

Then it was designer Rara Avis with his collection named 'The Outer Shell' that was based on underwater life and the idea of being yourself, unlocked, and getting out of a shell that people have formed around their lives. The materials of the collection revolved primarily around silk, leather, and organza. This collection looked stunning with the addition of the shrugs, bags, and hefty jewelry.

Next up was Anjali Patel Mehta's collection named 'Jaisalmer' under the label 'Verandah' was one of the misses that did not hit the bull's eye in the Lakme Fashion Week 2020. The theme was extremely and revolved around the only living forts of India, and the designer's experience of visiting it as a six-year-old, the fabrics, embroidery, and the color did not do enough to go with the theme.

Then it was Sonam and Paras Modi who displayed an exciting collection under the label 'SVA,' motivated by Persian and Turkish carpets and the textures and prints used to make them. With Bohemian Vibe, the collection mainly used shades of blue, which has been used a lot by SVA. Alaya Furniturewala, the newbie of the B-town, walked the ramp and looked spectacular in her mesmerizing lehenga.

Student of the Year 2, actress Tara Sutaria, walked the ramp for designer Punit Balana's collection and she looked impressive in a gorgeous pink lehenga. The designers divided his collection into two parts, where he used more pinks and pastels, whereas in the other one, the use of indigo and sky blue as the primary colors.

The attires were wearable, fun, and breezy. The South Indian actress, gorgeous Nithya Menon, took the ramp revealing the collection wherein she wore green and white linen outfit replete with embroidery, and she looked mesmerizing.

Then it was designer Mohammed Mazhar who came up with an exciting notion of taking a cue from horse fashion, but the collection as a whole was one of the biggest misses of this year.

Designer Shriya Som associated with BR Designs and Reliance Jewels, and in the end, the outcome was spectacular. The collection was composed of the material crochet, and the lightweight dresses had western silhouettes. Shriya Som was pleased with the jewelry collaboration and made sure the clothes perfected the jewelry very well, by keeping the necklines open and free of hefty embroidery.

The very talented designer Payal Singhal partnered with Corcal Bone & Beauty, to motivate women to lead and how a woman should feel beautiful from inside. The designer's collection saw lovely pastel tones, particularly pinks. The embroidery on most outfits bears a resemblance to the summer garden, with birds, flora, and clouds. Mithali Raj, the Women Cricket Sensational, was the showstopper for the design and looked breathtakingly beautiful in a blush pink motif lehenga.

Shraddha Kapoor

The fourth day of the Lakme Fashion Week S/R 2020 came to an end with Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor walking the ramp for designer Pankaj and Nidhi's collection named 'Artfluence'.
